Our Story
The introduction of the key ESP and Bag Filter technology to India occurred through licensing agreements between the then technology holders, Research Cottrell Inc., USA (acquired by the Hamon Group in 1997), other Hamon subsidiaries in Belgium and Germany, and their Partners/Licensees in India including VOLTAS, ACC, Shriram EPC, and Enmas Engineering Private Limited. Each of these licensing agreements and partnerships, while not concurrent was critical in establishing the reputation for performance and quality that the Research-Cottrell products in enjoyed India in industries as varied as utility boilers, steel plants, refineries, aluminium mills, pulp & paper and chemical recovery industry etc. While the level of collaboration varied in terms of industries and territories served, these licensees were instrumental in completing over 270 installations of Research-Cottrell design-based equipment in India.

In 2011, the Hamon Group established its own office in Kolkata and in 2012 expanded to a new office in Chennai, providing local support to its growing customer base. In 2018, Hamon Research Cottrell India Private Limited (HRCIN) became the Global Centre of Excellence for Suspended Particulate Controls, expanding its engineering and supply chain capabilities to support the Hamon Group’s global project portfolio. Gradually their areas of expertise increased to include other AQCS technology such as Flue Gas Desulphurisation & Treatment (FGD & FGT), Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) and Wet Gas Scrubbing (WGS). The team from Chennai played an integral role in the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up activities for Hamon projects across the Dominican Republic and Brazil in the Americas to Poland, Germany, France, Belarus and Greece in Europe, Egypt in the MENA region and Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, China and Thailand in Asia.
The HRCIN team, along with its successful track record and reference list, and the inherent knowledge base and technical know-how developed over years of successful project execution, both within India and outside, that Harmony acquired in 2022. It is this wealth of experience, knowledge and skills that we draw on to serve our clients today.
