In December 2022, HESPL acquired the Indian based operations of Hamon Research Cottrell India Pvt. Ltd. (HRCIN). This acquisition of the references, technology, know-how and most importantly, a team of experienced professionals provides Harmony with the perfect launch pad for rapid growth in this critical field. Today we are well positioned to leverage our extensive experience and expertise to provide innovative engineering solutions to customers worldwide.

Dr. Frederick G. Cottrell proved his ESP technology on a lab test unit.

1907
Commercial feasibility of Cottrell’s ESP was first demonstrated at E.I. DuPont de Nemours Powder Works in Pinole, California.

Frederick G.Cottrell is granted the first patent, No895.729, for an electrostatic precipitation device. This eventually becomes, and continue to be the primary means of controlling industrial air pollution.

Dr. Cottrell establishes Research Corporation in New York City to help commercialize the ESP and promote further scientific research.

Research Corporation incorporates Research-Cottrell as a for-profit business to serve the growing demand for industrial pollution control.

Research-Cottrell is active in the Indian market through various licensees and agents including ACC, Voltas and Sriram Group.

Hamon et. Cie acquires Research-Cottrell and renames the company Hamon Research-Cottrell Inc.

Hamon Research-Cottrell Inc. licenses its ESP technology for small Power Boiler & Recovery Boiler ESP’s to Enmas.

Hamon Research Cottrell India Private Limited is incorporated to serve the Indian Air Quality Control System market and support Hamon project activity world-wide. Soon after the Enmas Environmental Division is dissolved, and the team is integrated into Hamon Research Cottrell India.

HRCIN’s role within the Hamon Group grows culminating in it’s designation as the Hamon Global Design Centre. In addition to engineering services, HRCIN is a hub for other group activity including proposal development, procurement & supply chain management, commissioning and startup support. Harmony Environmental Systems acquires the non-Hamon Group business of Hamon Research Cotterll India along with all personnel, references, documentation and know-how.

Harmony completes it’s first year in operation and marks the occasion by booking a major order for the design and supply of an ESP for a new refinery in the North-East of India.
